In the dynamic world of Fortnite, every match presents new opportunities to gain an edge, and in Chapter 6, Season 4, one of the most reliable ways to do so is by completing SHADOW Briefings. These small, terminal-based quests offer quick challenges and valuable rewards, from Gold Bars to crucial in-game advantages. Whether you’re trying to complete a weekly quest or just looking for a way to get ahead, knowing where to find and how to accept these briefings is key. This guide will provide a comprehensive overview of the terminals, their locations, and the types of missions they offer.

How SHADOW Briefings Work

SHADOW Briefings are interactive terminals scattered across the island. When you approach one, a small icon of a white notebook will appear on your mini-map, making it easy to spot. Interacting with the terminal will present you with a quick mission, which you have a limited amount of time to complete. Once you accept a briefing, a timer will start, and the details of your objective will appear on the top-left of your screen. You can only accept one briefing at a time, but you can complete multiple missions throughout a single match. The challenges vary, and each one offers a unique reward.

Where to Find SHADOW Briefings

The location of these terminals can change with each new season, but their general placement often remains in key, high-traffic areas. In Chapter 6, Season 4, they are often found near military outposts, bug nests, and other strategic points of interest (POIs). Since not every terminal will spawn in every match, it’s a good idea to know several locations so you can move on to the next one if your first choice is empty.

Common locations to check include:

  • O.X.R. Headquarters: This central POI is a hotspot for all types of in-game features, and it’s a reliable place to find a terminal.
  • Supernova Academy: Located near the center of the map, this new landmark often has one or more terminals nearby.
  • Ranger’s Ruin: This bug-infested area often has a terminal somewhere nearby, offering a chance to complete a bounty or a supply drop challenge.
  • The Hive: The main bug nest on the map is a high-risk, high-reward area, and you may find a terminal here that provides a mission to eliminate bugs or destroy a hive sac.

Types of SHADOW Briefings and Their Rewards

Each SHADOW Briefing terminal offers a specific type of mission, each with its own objective and reward. Knowing the type of mission you are accepting can help you decide if it’s worth your time and effort. The four main types of briefings are:

  • Plunder: This mission tasks you with locating and digging up two buried rare chests. This is a great way to earn a quick influx of rare weapons and items, as well as a nice sum of Gold Bars.
  • Bounty: This is one of the most popular types of briefings. It places a bounty on the head of a nearby opponent, marking them with a gold circle on your mini-map. If you eliminate them within the time limit, you will receive a large reward of Gold Bars.
  • Supply Drop: Accepting this briefing will immediately mark a supply drop location on your map. Your objective is to reach it and secure the loot before anyone else does. This is an excellent way to get your hands on high-tier weapons and items early in the game.
  • Armory: This briefing will challenge you to get a certain number of eliminations with a specific type of weapon (e.g., an assault rifle or shotgun) within a time limit. Completing this will reward you with Gold Bars and is a good way to practice with a particular weapon type.

To accept a briefing, simply approach the terminal and follow the on-screen prompt. You will be given a small wheel with the options to choose a mission. Once you’ve made your choice, your quest will appear in the top-left of your screen. Remember, simply accepting the briefing is often enough to complete quests, even if you fail the mission itself. However, completing them successfully is always worth the effort for the bonus rewards.
